Who we are
Reset Journal App is responsible for the personal information described here — in legal terms, we are the data controller. We are based in Ontario, Canada, and you can reach us at support@resetjournal.app.
What we collect and why
Your email address, when you buy the journal, ask for your download link again, or create an account. We use it to deliver your download, verify your purchase and answer support requests. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
Purchase records — the payment reference, amount, currency, status, and the times your journal was emailed and downloaded. We use these to confirm your entitlement, handle refunds and keep accurate business records. Legal basis: contract performance and our legal obligations.
Account details, if you choose to create an account — your sign-in email and, for Google sign-in, the basic profile information Google returns. Legal basis: contract performance. Accounts are optional; guest checkout does not create one.
Technical and security data such as IP address and error logs, used to keep the site working and prevent fraud or abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in security. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell your information.
We never see or store your card details, and nothing you write inside the journal is sent to us — the PDF stays on your own device.
Who we share it with
Only where needed to run the business:
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for payments, invoicing, tax compliance and refunds.
- Our hosting, database and email delivery providers, who process data on our instructions.
- Professional advisers such as accountants or lawyers, where necessary.
- Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information.
How long we keep it
We keep purchase records for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, then delete or anonymise them. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete your account. Support emails are kept only as long as useful for handling your request.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in Canada, the United States and the European Economic Area. Where required, those transfers rely on approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or transfer it elsewhere, and you can withdraw consent where we relied on it. Unsubscribing from our emails is one click in any email footer. Email support@resetjournal.app and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you may also complain to your local data protection authority; in Canada you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Security and cookies
We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls and private storage for the journal file itself; download links are validated on our server for every request. The site uses only essential cookies and local storage needed for sign-in and checkout — we do not use advertising or profiling cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of.
